Last night at the Bowery Ballroom, Ryn Weaver’s CMJ performance proved that she is more than just hype. During this ‘internet age’ it’s rare to see an artist who has built up buzz online actually have such a commanding presence in person. Granted Weaver released a four-song EP, called Promises, so her set was rather short (she one cover song; Norwegian singer Susanne Sundfør’s “White Foxes“). Short or not, Weaver had beautiful and polished vocals and even engage with the crowd during the set.
Even on a cold and rainy night in NYC, Weaver had a great turn out. The 21 year old finished the night with her most popular track ‘Octahate’ (official video below).
One thing we took away from last night is that Ryn Weaver is an artist to watch for 2015 and might be the best thing you catch during CMJ 2014. Get familiar with some of her work below.
